On March 30th, 2013, premium YouTube channel Geek & Sundry (The Guild, TableTop, Written By A Kid) asks all of our fans to go to their friendly local game store, community center, or host an event at home and play more games. International TableTop Day is a reminder to spend more time and strengthen the bonds with the people who matter most, our friends and family, by playing games together. Tabletop gaming promotes many positive social and cognitive benefits like increased communication, team work, planning, and is an excellent stress relieving activity for all ages.

International TableTop Day also represents the one year anniversary of the launch of the hit show TableTop, hosted by Wil Wheaton (Star Trek, Big Bang Theory, Leverage). TableTop has been a well-reported boon to the international gaming community, not only creating whole new generations of tabletop gamers, but also providing a rising tide that supports many game stores and publishers. TableTop fans have sent us thousands of fan mail responses telling us about how TableTop has rekindled their friendship, brought families together, helped hospital patients find strength to carry on, and even provided peace for grieving families. TableTop has become much more than a show, it has become a shining light for the whole international gaming community. And we want to give back to our fans in a very special way!

International TableTop Day is a celebration for all the fans of tabletop gaming. A single day where the whole world is brought together in a common purpose of spending time together and having fun. We hope you find the resources you need -- to connect new fans to experienced group organizers, retailers with their community, and publishers with the international community -- all in one place. The interactive map hosts all of the game days and parties worldwide. If you don't see an event near you, simply follow the free submission process to create and host your own TableTop Day event that we will promote for you. International TableTop Day encourages people from around the globe to participate in the joys of board gaming by empowering the community to host thousands of gaming events internationally. Participants can sign up at www.tabletopday.com for free events at their favorite local game stores or submit their own event at their home, community center or business. Participants are encouraged to use the hashtag #TableTopDay on social media to share and connect their own events on a global scale.

FAQ
1. Will my private event show up on the map?
No, for privacy reasons we will not show your private event on the map nor will we publish your address. We would still like you to fill out a submission for your event though so we can send you information closer to the date.

2. Why isn't my event showing on the map?
If your event was not approved, you will get an email. If your event is at a house, we can't approve it for privacy reasons. Everyone else should appear on the map. The best way to check if you're on the map is to zoom out of the map and watch the icons fall onto the map. Once they stop zoom back in and enter your zip code. Your event should then display.

3. Will I get an email confirming my event?
No, if you submit and you get a screen that says that your submission has gone through then your event has been received.

4. Can I edit my event after I've submitted it?
Unfortunately no, simply resubmit your event and add (resubmit) to the title so we can flag it as a duplicate.

5. How long does it take for my event to show on the map?
Between 24-48 hours. We're manually approving each event so it may take some time.

6. What games do we need to play at our #TableTopDay event?
You can play anything! The table(s)' the limit!

7. How long does our event need to be?
As long as you want.

8. What are the icons on the map?
Stars are premium stores, playing cards are stores, and meeples are groups/libraries/churches/clubs.

9. There's no event near me?
First, make sure the map is fully loaded. It can take awhile (we're working on it). Zoom out in the map and watch the icons drop all over the world! If you still don't see something near you keep checking back, more and more events are submitted daily. OR submit your own event!

10. Can Wil or Felicia come to my event?
They're going to be busy doing a live stream on TableTop Day!

11. Waiiiit this day is right before Easter/Doctor Who/a wedding/my dog's birthday! How can I participate?
The reason for March 30th is it celebrates TableTop's first birthday! Also, TableTop Day is 24 hours on March 30th (and it's YOUR March 30th, got that Australia?) so do something that day, even if it's for a couple hours. If you do, you participate. Take pictures and video, tag them with #TableTopDay so we can see what you did!

12. The site gave me an error message.
Sometimes there's a lot of people on the site at once, just wait a couple minutes and refresh.
