From UNO to Ticket to Ride and Catan to Terraforming Mars, there’ll be more games than you can shake a stick at! Our regular gamers love to share their games and because there’ll be so many gamers, there will be even more games! If you’ve got a game you’d like to share feel free to bring it along and throw it on the share pile or keep it with you. This is the perfect opportunity to get those games off the shelf and in to play where they belong. Just don’t forget to take them home again when you leave!
Gamers that Game
Don’t know what you’re doing? No problem! We love games and we enjoy teaching them almost more than we do playing them! There’ll be plenty of helpers to teach, talk and sit down and play with you. Just look for the volunteers wearing orange lanyards and name tags. Maybe you can teach us a new game?
X-wing Demonstration Games
Throughout the day Next Level Games Ringwood will be running demonstration games of the popular miniatures game X-wing. This Star Wars theamed game does not just feature the space ships from the movies but the entire expanded Star Wars universe. Be a part of the Galactic Empire or join the Rebel Alliance and dogfight it out across the table in the fast-paced action between X-wings and TIE fighters.
Designed by Robert ‘Bob’ Crofton Lloyd and launched in 1962 Squatter is the most successful board game ever developed in Australia and Australian it is! Squatter is all about using strategy and chance to make your sheep station successful. The Squatter tournament will be running all day and all you have to do to participate is register before you play. There’ll be a major prize for the winner and the first and second place getters will also win themselves a brand new copy of this iconic game. Want to get involved but never played before? No worries. Who better to teach you than the game’s custodian and son of it’s designer, Richard Lloyd. Come and help Richard celebrate his father’s legacy, what have you got to loose?
Not only will Next Level Games Ringwood be teaching and demonstrating games but they’ll also have a pop-up shop for you to check out while you’re in between games. Play a board game you really liked? Want to expand your new Magic the Gathering collection? Need to get that X-wing starter set? Come see the guys from Next Level. If they don’t have what you’re after then chances are they can order it in for you.
Children are more than welcome and there will be child and family friendly games to play. Some of our volunteers have Working With Children Checks, however children 12 years and under MUST be accompanied by an adult.
International Table Top Day will be held on level two in REALM. REALM is the square white building that looks somewhat like a giant cheese greater. It’s located in Ringwood Town Square, directly opposite Ringwood Train Station on Maroondah Hwy. You can’t miss it! The entry for REALM is right next to the external entrance for David Jones in Eastland Shopping Centre. REALM is wheelchair and handicapped friendly.
REALM has it’s own resident Italian cafe, Caffe Stazione, located on the ground floor. If you mention that you’re here for International Table Top Day you can get yourself a slice of pizza with a can of drink for just $7
Ringwood Town Square is also home to several restaurants and there are lots of options for a sit down or take-away meal.
There’s free all day parking on the Station St. side of Ringwood Train Station but you’ll probably have to arrive early to get a spot.
Seymour St. car park (off Ringwood St.) has cheap rates and is free after 12pm on a Saturday.
There’s also lots of parking at Eastland Shopping Centre. The first three hours is free but after that your going to have to pay. Still great value for a day of entertainment!
